Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II became the monarch of 16 out of the 53 member states in the Commonwealth of Nations. She holds the titles of Head of the Commonwealth and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

Following the passing of her father, King George VI, on 6 February 1952, Princess Elizabeth, at the age of 25, ascended to the throne.

Throughout the 20th century, the Millennium, and into the 21st century, she has ruled alongside her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Even today, Queen Elizabeth II continues to enjoy unwavering popularity, with millions of supporters and well-wishers worldwide participating in her Royal Jubilee celebrations.

The impressive Miniature Sheet, printed on silk, showcases a painting created by Ralph Heimans.

The artwork, titled The Coronation Theatre, Westminster Abbey: A Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, was specially commissioned by Buckingham Palace to commemorate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

In the painting, Her Majesty is portrayed in a reflective stance, standing on the historic Cosmati pavement where English monarchs have been crowned since its commission by King Henry III in the 13th century.
