Brand new system camera with the look of the 70s: The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II comes with a new image stabilization and improved viewfinder.
camera design outside, inside current technology is the motto of the OM-D series. Without size comparison, the cameras are easy to confuse with a SLR, in reality they are, however, significantly smaller and lighter. Within the OM-D series, there are three model ranges: the professional model Olympus OM-D E-M1, the photo enthusiast camera Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II and the entry-level model Olympus OM-D E-M10. The Smallest now gets a sequel, simply OM-D E-M10 Mark II called.
The new Mark II can be operated with the technology of the larger models and get a viewfinder with higher resolution: The new viewfinder displays 1024×768 pixels. This corresponds to 2.36 megapixels after the counting mode of the camera manufacturers, including the individual sub pixels for the primary colors red, green and blue. The new viewfinder is not only detail accurately, but also shows a larger picture. With a viewfinder magnification of 1.23 times (equal to about 0.61 times in small picture format) is about the size of the viewfinder at the Fuji film X-T10 or the DSLR models Canon EOS 70D and Nikon D7200.
Better image stabilizer
Also known already from the more expensive models, the five-axis image stabilizer. He should not only wobbles upward balance down or sideways, but also rotational movements. Because the image stabilizer is seated in the camera, it works with all lenses. He will cover up to four stops, a slight increase over the previous model. Images are possible even at slow shutter speeds, such as a 1/4 second.
The housing of the E-M10 Mark II is similar to its predecessor, but has been significantly redesigned: Links from the viewfinder sit now only the power switch and a function key.The dials are completely migrated to the right side and are somewhat larger. Even with gloves the wheels should still be easy to use. Like its predecessor, remains a substantial difference to the more expensive models E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II: The case of e-M10 Mark II is not weatherproof.
Again 16 Megapixel
When the image sensor, there is little new: The photo resolution is 4608×3456 pixels at.The image processing will continue providing a True Pic VII processor. Another new feature is a silent mode: Then the camera operates with an electronic shutter and can trigger so silently. When shooting, it remains true at Full HD (1920×1080 pixels)however, the E-M10 Mark II takes up to 60 frames per second, the predecessor in this resolution were only a maximum of 30 frames per second in it. 4K video, the E-M10 Mark II only record in time-lapse mode.
